The South African–German Energy Partnership will host the first of a two-part webinar series on October 16 at 14:00 to explore the transformative role of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) in South Africa’s energy future.
The series is designed to share the findings of a recently commissioned report titled 'Opportunities for Digitalisation in the South African Energy Sector', as well as identify actionable opportunities for South Africa’s energy sector.
Focused on how to get advanced metering infrastructure right, the webinar will also discuss unlocking market flexibility and cybersecurity. The discussion builds on the insights from the South African–German Energy Partnership report, which highlights how digitalisation, decentralisation and decarbonisation are reshaping the country’s energy landscape.
The webinar will consider how AMI can drive market flexibility, enhance consumer engagement and safeguard grid reliability. A strong focus will also be placed on cybersecurity and the best practices needed to ensure reliable, secure implementation.
